The Orange Octopus gender zine is my pet project that began in 2010: it is a creative, collaborative publication that exists to shine a positive light on every facet of the gender spectrum. Through works of poetry, prose, comics, illustration, and photography, the Orange Octopus gender zines celebrates all genders outside, inside, and around the gender binary.
Right now the Orange Octopus gender zine is preparing for its third issue (to be released in winter 2011). The first two issues were a great success, featuring work from incredibly talented people hailing from around the globe, and in its third issue Orange Octopus is hoping to recruit more talented individuals to create the best issue yet!

Everyone who contributes gets a free copy of the third issue of the zine printed and delivered to them! Also: this is a genderqueer/trans* inclusive project. I don’t want anyone to feel like they are not trans/queer enough to participate- everyone and all genders are welcome!
Some information about contributions:
The work(s) submitted do not have to be totally autobiographical- people can create works of fiction or elaborate on existing themes to their heart’s content- all I ask is that the doom and gloom is kept as minimal as possible. The Orange Octopus gender zine has always been and forever will be an outlet to express and exhibit how much joy and happiness exists outside of the boundaries of the traditional pink and blue binary roles. More than anything it is an uplifting, happy project.
